Essential tools for measuring perfection

Before you embark on your measurement journey, gather a flexible cloth measuring tape and a pen to record your measurements. For accurate results, wear a bra that resembles the one you plan to wear with the garment. Additionally, if you have a well-fitting jacket, shirt, or trousers that you adore, keep them nearby as a point of reference. While having a friend assist you can be beneficial, achieving exceptional results' not a requirement.

Made-to-Measure for unparalleled elegance

Now that you're prepared to begin let's go through the following list of measurements. While it's not an exhaustive list, it covers the essentials while ensuring self-measurement simplicity. Follow the instructions using a relaxed yet firm hand and remember never to pull the tape measure tight. To ensure precision, take each measurement three times and round the final measurements to the nearest half-inch. Let's start by recording your height (in meters) and weight (in kilograms) to assist with overall sizing.

Coat Measurements

Bust/Chest

Wearing a typical or intended bra, measure the circumference of your bust at its fullest point. Ensure your arms are relaxed by your sides and avoid pulling the tape too tight. This measurement generally aligns with your bra size, so let's measure rather than assume.

Neck/Collar

Measure the circumference of your neck at the height where your collar would rest. To ensure accuracy, you can wear a well-fitting shirt that complements your style.

 Sleeve Length

With your arm, you are naturally relaxed at your side; measure from where the shoulder seam meets the crown (highest point of the shoulder) down to your desired length, usually at the base of the thumb where it meets your wrist.

Shoulder Width

Measure across the top of your back, arcing from the tip of one shoulder to the other. This measurement should follow the natural curvature of your upper back rather than forming a perfectly straight line. If you struggle to identify the shoulder tips, you can measure between the shoulder seams of a well-fitting shirt or jacket.

Trouser Measurements

Pant Waist

Measure around your waist at the height where you'd like your trousers to sit rather than your natural waist. Avoid pulling the tape measure too tight. If you're uncertain, wear an existing pair of trousers that fit you well and measure around the waistband.

Hips/Seat

Stand with your feet hip-width apart, measure around the fullest part of your hips, and seat. Ensure your pockets are empty and the tape measure remains level and untwisted. You should feel gentle contact with the tape measure without excessive tension.

Out-seam/Trouser Length

Measure vertically from the top of where you want the trouser waist to sit down along the side pant seam to your desired trouser length. Typically, this falls approximately 1-2 inches above the floor, but the precise length varies based on your preferred style. For guidance, you can wear trousers that fit you well or choose shoes similar to those you intend to wear with the suit.

Thigh Circumference

Measure the circumference of your thigh at its widest point, which is usually near the top of the inseam but may vary depending on your physique.
